MARINA
NEWLIN
resume
Marina grew up in the mud. Rural North Carolina is littered with puddles and red clay, the perfect environment to get dirt under their nails. Marina discovered their love for sculpture and performance while attending the University of Texas at Austin. Much like clay, they mold the raw human experience through performance, often dissecting topics of health, queerness, and religious deconstruction. They have worked in partnerships with The Visual Arts Center and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden developing lesson plans for after-school programs. In collaboration with The Elisabet Ney Museum, they exhibited work that combined modern 3D rendering processes with Austin antiquity to fabricate something new.
