MUTILATION
2023
"Mutilation" (2023) is a physical manifestation of gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia. These garments offer a temporary and impractical alternative to binding or surgery with roll-up boobs. The appendages are hand-sewn with silk and lace, screen printed and attached to the everyday canvas of a cotton t-shirt. The wearer experiences an unfamiliar body part, and although they are "removable" the disconcerting sensation remains. "Mutilation" is an encounter with my dysphoria, presenting the intimacy of queerness in an approachable manner. This exploration is a step towards answering the so-called "trans question" which disguises transphobia as a moral issue. Trans healthcare is definitively life-saving, and "Mutilation" is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of why.Size MSilk, lace, t-shirt

BODY DANGEROUS
2025
As a child my mother worked tirelessly to protect my innocence. She made sure that I knew how dangerous my body was, and how to properly cover it to become invisible. As hard as I tried, my body was always there, always taking up space, always attracting attention. I could never hide, so I built armor. This butter knife chestplate is loud and useless, and attracts the same amount of attention. Maybe the issue was never my body, but the attention. size Ldress, butter knives, wire armature

HEALING
2022
After any major surgery comes a much longer and painful recovery process. Regaining abilities takes time and effort, and builds character as much as it can build community. This is a specific memory of helping my mother regain mobility after her second mastectomy. She reached a tall shelf, and I reached the soft side of my mother.10” x 3” x 9”unfired clay

POSTURE
2022
My posture has alawys been bad, and the weight of American healthcare only adds to my pack. This sculpture manifests the weight of medical trauma and represents the thin line between health and death, relying on a feeble string to support it.

BUSH OFFERING
2025
Haircuts feel wasteful to me. I spend so much time, labor, and money growing it out, only to have it chopped off and discarded. So I often find something to do with it. This piece is one of an ongoing series in which I repurpose my hair. It was green at this point, and I noticed how similar it was to the grass, so I planted it. I came from the earth, and in an act of recycling I return. 10” X 10”Hair, sign post

WOVEN IN SPITE
2025
Separately these materials are just invasive. When woven together, they become an act of adaptation. These things are not supposed to be where they were found, but this is the world we live in. We make due with what already exists. We adapt by any means necessary. Part of decolonization is acknowledging the harm that had been caused, and using that as a springboard for healing.

HELIOS
2021
Dreamscape of the first co-op I lived in. It was magical and a nightmare all at once. There’s always someone - or something - watching. 15” x 18”photo lithography

FILE FOREST
2022
Cloud storage is not real, obsolete technology holds the secrets of the world. I wanted to replicate the physical magnitude of lost information, the amount of which we can never comprehend. Just like a forest, it is easy to get disoriented in the sheer amount of lost media.10’ x 10’ x 10’CD’s, cardboard tubes, zip-ties

INJECTION
2025
The Texas state government is fascist and overtly discriminatory against the LGBTQ+ and minority communities. While most of the proposed bills in the 2024 session didn’t pass, the intention to demonize queerness is very much alive. Despite their efforts, queers exist, and beyond that, they thrive. During times of oppression self-care is revolutionary, weather that be eating 3 times a day, or gender-affirming surgery, it’s all important.
